What to expect
Our Sunday Service starts at 10:30am although people come anytime from 10:00 and often grab a tea or coffee beforehand from the kitchen. There’s definitely no dress code at Grace Church! It’s pretty casual and people tend to wear whatever they’re comfortable in.
Sunday mornings are a time for people of all ages to gather together to praise God, to hear what he has to say to us from the Bible and to speak to him in prayer. A typical morning service consists of 4-5 songs, (a mix of old hymns and newer songs), prayers and a talk from the Bible.
There are groups for children from 0-12 years old led by committed volunteers. Children stay in the main hall for the first half an hour or so and are then invited to go to Sunday Club during the Bible talk. They meet in an adjacent room in the Centre. If you wish to stay with your child during Sunday Club, that’s no problem, you are very welcome to do so!
If you aren’t used to going to church you’ll find everything is explained, you don’t need to bring a Bible or hymn books or money for a collection or anything like that, (service sheets with the words of the songs and Bibles are all provided free), and you’re under no obligation to take part in anything if you’d rather not.
After the service has ended, typically between 11:30-11.45am, tea, coffee, biscuits or cake are served. Often we’ll have a church family lunch together after the service where we just bring our sandwiches or something to share and, those who can, hang-around for longer! Please check our calendar for our next lunch.
